Time Extension for Submitting Claim Representation

The Committee by Public Notice published on 01.08.2022 in English Newspaper and Regional Newspapers had invited claim representations from all the claimant workers concerned, or as the case may be, the Unions and Associations, representing them to submit their claim representations by 15.09.2022 by 4 PM.

Communication and essential services in many parts of the country have been disrupted due to the floods in many regions. In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the Committee is of the opinion that time limit for submitting claim representation be extended. Therefore, the Committee extends the stipulated time for submitting claim representations from 15.09.2022 and all concerned claimant workers may submit their claim representations by 30.09.2022 till 4 PM, by Registered or Speed Post at the address given below:-

Hon’ble Supreme Court vide Judgement & Order dated 27.04.2022, passed in the case of MA No. 1150/2019 Ranbir Singh Vs. S.K Roy, Chairman, L.I.C of India and Another, Live Law (SC) 417 has been pleased to constitute a Committee comprising of:

  1. Hon’ble Justice Shri P K S Baghel, Former Judge of Allahabad High Court; and
  2. Shri Rajiv Sharma, Former District Judge and Member of UPHJS

For the purpose of fresh verification of the claims of all the workers who claim to have been employed by L.I.C between 20th May, 1985 and 4th March, 1991 for at least,

  1. 70 days in Class IV posts over a period of 3 (three) years, or
  2. 85 days in Class III posts over a period of 2 (two) years

The abovementioned Committee hereby, through this notice, invites from all the workers concerned, or as the case may be, the Unions and Associations, representing them to submit their claims and to provide all information on separate sheets on points as per “Format A” given below, along with the copy of all such documentary materials on which they rely upon, for the purpose of the above mentioned verification by the date 15 September, 2022. , latest by 4 PM by Registered or Speed Post at the address given below:-

Now after exchange of counter/reply/affidavits and rejoinder/reply/affidavits, hearing is in progress.

Hearing of some of the claims have been conducted at Delhi (Northern Zone), Bhubaneshwar (East Central Zone), Kolkatta (Eastern Zone), Chandigarh( Northern Zone), Jodhpur(Northern zone), Jaipur(Northern zone) , Indore(Central zone) and Mumbai(WZ).
